You’ve chosen two instances in my piece to argue against that are the absolute truth: Gay marriage can’t hurt you and abortion is legal.
Two people of the same sex loving one another and wanting to make their bond legal is not a biblical abomination. It has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with love.
Women have wombs and are the only gender to be able to bear children. If they choose to abort a fetus they don’t do it to piss anyone off, they do it for anguished reasons of their own, with counsel from their doctors.
Late term abortions ONLY happen because the fetus isn’t viable, or because the mother’s life is in danger, again for reasons confirmed by medical staff. They don’t rip bloody babies out of wombs on a whim.
There are many horrors in this world, much of it directed at living children — including and especially children separated from their families and put in cages by our own government— and until “pro-life” people are willing to address them, explaining their own indifference to all but the fetus, the misery will continue — and so will this discussion.
I’m writing my opinion here and you don’t agree. Notice that you weren’t silenced. You can say anything you want to say. You could write an opinion piece arguing against mine. Nobody tells you to be quiet.
That’s how it works.
