You're probably right that they're proud of their monetary status, but I don't see how it helps anyone else. Other writers might think they'll be able to do the same after reading those articles, but the odds are always against them and they'll ultimately fail if their only goal is the money.

Very few writers are able to make much money at Medium. On the other hand, many writers have found their voices here. That's what I would rather celebrate.
