Your comment about reading and writing is so spot on. I often don't know where I'm going when I begin to write, and I often have to change midstream because I realize that's not at all what I want to convey.

The same is true of reading--or watching movies, for that matter. I start out with an idea of how I'm going to react and then I'm either pleasantly or unpleasantly surprised.

It keeps life interesting...
