You make good points, Tralia. Yes, there are many programs for the elderly, but they're mainly social programs and don't address the concerns of actual ageism. There is still outright discrimination which affects other groups, as well,, as you point out.
I've addressed ageism in this way because I see it from an intimate point of view. Your concerns about disabilities are real and disturbing, and the more awareness you can bring to it, the better.
In fact, we're both doing what we should be doing: drawing attention to real issues affecting millions of people.
One doesn't outweigh the other. There's room for both.
