Yes, it’s fine to remove a publication, but please let the editor know before you do. That’s only common courtesy. I posted a story on my publication only to see that is was gone the next day. I emailed the author and he said he had removed it. It didn’t seem to occur to him to let me know, even though I had already promoted it on both Facebook and Twitter. Then, to add salt to the wound, he admitted that he’d removed it in order to give it to the publication he REALLY wanted to have it in the first place, but they hadn’t gotten back to him quick enough. Then when they did, he pulled it from mine and placed it there. He probably could have kept that part to himself! Lol.
