Yes, I agree that thinking logically makes sense. So does thinking emotionally. You might want to stretch out your opinions, though. Then there is some meat to discuss.

I’m a liberal who definitely doesn’t think short term, so I’m not sure what you mean. Whatever I work toward isn’t for me, it’s for my grandchildren, your grandchildren, and their children to come. I want life to be good for them and I’ve been working for more than 60 years — all of my adult life — to make that happen. My goals and beliefs have always been the same. Nothing short term about them.

I don’t know what conservatives think, but we’re living in toxic times. I’m still hopeful that there are more things we can agree on than differ, but my hopes are growing slim.
