Wow, that was a splash of cold water this morning. And a slug of caffeine, too. I'll never be as smart as your friend, or as talented as you, but I've been accused by my writer friends of doing just what you describe--working too hard to perfect a work that's good enough. It's like hanging onto our babies long after they're ready to move on. We love them and we're afraid they won't be loved once they get out there.
