This whole business of clapping is so alien to me. I usually give 10 claps, but maybe I should give 50? Sometimes someone will clap once for my story and I don’t know whether to laugh or to cry. One clap?? It feels like a bit of an insult until I recognize that some people don’t know they can clap more than once. I refuse to believe they can’t muster enough interest to tap more than once. Lol.

But how important are the claps, anyway? I thought they were the only way any writer could get paid but I’ve seen since then that that’s not true — that other factors go into it. I’m so confused.
