The Christian Right got away with it for so long because most of us were too polite to make a fuss, even when we saw the scope of their campaign to corrupt our government.

The Tea Party gained a foothold by taking advantage of that politeness, accusing us of denying them their God if we fought against their hateful actions. Those days are done, I hope, but you’re right — they’re really going to dig in now that they’re feeling threatened.

And the fact is, they should feel threatened. They’ve overstepped at every turn and now they want the country to believe our government works for THEM. That’s not going to happen. That’s never going to happen.
