Spot on, Laura. I’m always surprised when new writers think they don’t have to serve an apprenticeship to become better. Every creative endeavor requires practice, failure, practice, failure, practice, failure.

When we celebrate the kind of writing that soars and fills our hearts it’s because it happens so seldom. It’s an accomplishment most of us will never achieve — a gift. An art.
