So interesting, Roz. It’s my dream to add the NYT to my resume! I’m with you on waiting 24 hours before hitting the publish button. I’ve published way too early too many times and then it’s a mad scramble to fix what obviously needs fixing.

I try to wear the same editing cap for myself that I wear — much to my dismay — when I’m reading someone else’s work. Even then, I miss a lot. I’m lucky that I have a “first reader” in my husband but he only catches the big stuff. It’s still up to me to make it big-publication-worthy by taking the fine-tooth-comb to it. That only works if it sits for a while.
