So here we are again. Are there more men writing on Medium than there are women? Is that a factor?

I’m fairly new to Medium but I’ve noticed I follow more women than men. I don’t think it’s a conscious choice, although it might be. I’m always looking for ways to support women. There are scads of good male writers, but women writers speak to me in ways men can’t. I’m guessing men feel the same way about their own gender.

Pointing this out is important, since the gap is so wide. It’s a fact across all media sources — men dominate the field. The trend needs to change. We’re every bit as worthy.
