No, I haven’t seen that movie. It’s almost a miracle that Ireland has healed after the terrible violence of The Troubles, but it took BOTH sides. I’m not seeing that with the Republicans yet. They still want power, they’re still lying, and they’re still making impossible, obstructionist demands. When I see some signs that they want peace, too, and can understand the need to compromise, I may change my mind.

Post-apartheid South Africa, with Mandela, Bishop Tutu, and the Truth and Reconciliation movement was another miracle that could only happen when both sides made concessions and began to understand each other.

Again, I’m not seeing anything like that from the Republicans. The Democrats would be fools to be taken in by them again.
