It’s a Wonderful Life was a takeoff on Scrooge, where George had to be less than perfect in order to come to terms with his life and how he should live it, so I wasn’t so much bothered by that. Still, I wouldn’t put it on my “Favorites” list.
I remember when Carol Burnett did the drapery version of GWTW, and there were those who were insulted that she would take on a classic. But the majority of us thought it was brilliant and hilarious. It made the news!
