I’m fairly new to Medium so I can’t make those comparisons but I want to read about them to see how the changes have impacted writers over time. My own feeling is that Medium is looking more to major online publications and big name writers, and isn’t as concerned with us peons anymore. Our $5/month is all that keeps us in the game, it seems, and they have no real interest in promoting us.

Possibly because our numbers have grown now to an almost impossible size. Those few curators, for example, aren’t nearly enough to give us the exposure we would want. The big publication are swamped with submissions and can’t possibly handle them all, either.

I love Medium, too, but I’m using it more as a showcase and a stepping-stone to other more profitable venues. I was bogged down in blog writing for many years and Medium has given me to impetus to move on. I’m doing it, too, with some success, so I’ll be forever grateful for the Medium platform.
