I'm beginning to feel the same way and have started a Substack newsletter to see how that goes. I think Medium has some real growing pains and doesn't quite yet know what it wants to do with the thousands and thousands of writers they've recruited by allowing anyone to write here. They want to be seen as a prestige site but with so much trash in their yard it's hard to pull off.

I don't publish nearly as much here anymore but I still like the clean format and the ease of publishing, so I'll hang around a while longer.

But I'm curious--how can you tell when they're bots?
