I’m afraid they came across as more than rambling thoughts. It looks like victim-blaming and if that’s not what you meant, you might want to do some editing. People struggling with mental illness don’t need any more triggers. They feel bad enough about themselves already.

Good for you that you don’t feel these things. I don’t suffer from depression much any more and I have no idea why that is, but I know what it feels like when it hits and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. I certainly wouldn’t tell them it’s all in their heads and all they have to do is work harder to get over it.

As for why it’s happening more now — I don’t think it is. It’s always been with us. I think we’re more aware now because we don’t treat it as such a stigma we can’t talk about it. We talk about it now and I’ll fight against any attempts to silence those who are finally brave enough to tell their stories.
