If only it were that easy. If only we all had the will to keep order in our lives, to find joy, to overcome the terrors and the disappointment. You may not even realize it, but you are blaming the victims. You’re telling them they could fix this if they really wanted to. You’re telling them how to do it without knowing anything about them, or about their circumstances.

This is why they need professional help. Because platitudes have never been known to heal a physical illness. Chronic depression and PTSD have their roots in physical inabilities to cope.

I’ll repeat: Fix the problem first, and then show the ways to keep their illness at bay. You’re putting the cart before the horse.
