I would have to argue that your generalizations about all religious believers don’t hold water. There are millions of religious people who aren’t fundamentalists, who don’t follow Old Testament practices, who don’t see their religion as all-knowing and all-powerful, who don’t push illiteracy.
You may have your own beefs about religion, but to sweep everyone under one rug isn’t fair and isn’t true. I’m not a believer, and I’ll speak out against those who use religion as a power tool, but I’ll also defend those who find comfort in their religions without pushing them on me. There are many more of them. They’re just not as vocal.
