I understand and I’m sorry, too. It’s a travesty. But don’t give up on Medium’s independent publications. There are many of them, including mine (Independent Ink) that still vet our writers and provide basic editorial services. Good writing is the goal, but some pubs have tighter focuses. My own stresses creative nonfiction but others might better fit your needs. If all of the best writers give up, we’ve all lost something worthwhile.

Why not stay and work to make Medium better? There are so many amazing writers here and they need a community, too. Let’s rise up together.
