I say all the time that writing is hard work, but I do it both as a warning and as a reality check. I’m usually saying it to the dilettantes who insist there’s nothing to it. There’s a lot of that on Medium. Just write out a whole bunch of stuff, hit “Publish” many times a day, and poof! You’re a writer!
