I have to agree that much of the slowdown has to do with what we see on our Medium front pages. What a mess! The same stories day after day after day, and apparently the only way we can get rid of them is to click on them.

I rarely even look at it anymore, and that's not right. I want to support writers on Medium and I want to read great stories but they're getting harder and harder to find.

And it's almost meaningless to have my stories accepted 'for further distribution' when I don't see the numbers rise because of it.

Still, I like the Medium format and I'll keep on writing here. I never did expect it would be the only place I would hang my writing. And I don't make nearly enough money here to get used to this pitiful source of income.
