I agree with most of what you've said here. I think it was out of line to call out these men for not contributing. But I think you're out of line for using that picture to illustrate your thoughts. You need to take it down immediately. It's not fair use. They're not in the public domain. You're violating Medium's rules about getting permission to use photos.

And it's bound to be hurtful to Shannon, unless she gave you explicit permission to use them, which I doubt.
