Charles, your poem is so powerful. Just stunning. No white person can ever feel the tug of ancestry , knowing we're the blood of those people so horribly abused, knowing it didn't end with the end of slavery; didn't end with the Civil Rights Movement, didn't end with the murder of another Black man at the hands of white men who swore they would protect all citizens.
