Between the would-be oligarchs and the religious right, we’ve been fighting to keep this from happening for decades. It was only a matter of time before the Republicans figured out a way to rig elections and own the airwaves and win it all. (I don’t think they saw the Russians coming to this degree, but when it happened, it made all their wet dreams come true.)

Trump came along and escalated everything and they couldn’t be happier. But I remember the early primaries and the Republicans were as horrified as the rest of us at Trump’s antics — until they saw how their base was reacting to him. I really don’t think they ever planned on someone like Trump, but once he was in place they were going to do everything they could do to keep him there. He’s pure profit for them, in every way.

And we do have to stop it. Not now, yesterday.
