As an old person myself I might take issue with your use of age as a prerequisite for prejudice, but I’ve seen it myself with older people. I’ve also seen older people defend others who are being attacked by those much younger.

Families seem to think they have a special right to let it all hang out in social gatherings. It’s really odd and nobody is comfortable with confrontation, but they’ll go on doing it if they think they have permission.

Facebook is especially hard because most often it’s a community made up of friends and family. I confront, I hope kindly, until I see it’s escalating or going nowhere. Then I block.
